Osteopathic Research
In recent years the results of a number of scientific research studies have been published in respected medical journals such as The New England Journal of Medicine in 1999 and BioMed Central in 2005 confirming the efficacy of osteopathy in treating back pain. Similarly, in a 2003 issue of Archives of Pediatrics & Adolescent Medicine the results of adding osteopathic manipulative treatment to routine care of children suffering from ear infections decreased the need for surgical interventions and the overuse of antibiotics.
